October 2011: The engineers and technicians at Raven are completing a prototype 50kW DC generator for wind application.

September 2011:  A 220 Volt/50hz version of the Blackbird generator is in the final stages of development, increasing Raven's markets worldwide.

 

March 2011: Raven introduces its second generation PTO generator. More robust, fully shrouded, and speed-independent, like all Blackbird systems.

 

January 2011: Raven Technology unveils its Blackbird installation for the Ford 6.7 liter PowerStroke diesel, currently the most popular chasis in the light rescue market.

 

Fall 2010 Raven Energy Alternatives Expands Portfolio:  Raven has formed Raven Energy Alternatives to work with industrial partners to  develop new market applications for Raven's patented variable speed generator technology. 

Development Projects underway include:

  • small grid connect generators for wind power and waste heat recovery
  • larger three-phase generators for advanced wind energy conversion systems
  • hybrid power systems for over-the-road trucking applications

 

October 2010: Announcing a Blackbird underhood installation package for the 2011 Ford Super Duty 6.7 Diesel: Thank you for your patience waiting for this installation to be engineered! We hope to be shipping systems for the 2011 Ford in late November, 2010! Happy Thanksgiving!

April 2010: Raven introduces the Motor-Manager Option at FDIC 2010: Now you can operate multi-tool extrication operations with scene lighting from a compact, lightweight Blackbird Generator. Ask your rescue tool supplier about special three-phase power units designed to operate with the Blackbird Motor-Manager option.

November 2008: Currently being tested in the Raven lab is a 15 kW PTO-driven generator. This more conventionally designed generator will be a constant-engagement, over-the-road system suitable for powering a wide range of equipment, including refrigeration systems. Watch for prototypes of this generator by mid-year.

January 2008:The Blackbird is now available in a 7,000 watt 120/240 volt configuration. The 7,000 watt system provides even more power for lights, tools and electronic equipment and uses the same renowned underhood mounting systems as the current 5,000 watt model.  Like all our installations you don
